You may say - one more beautiful, tropical island, but they each have their special uniqueness. For example, the St Lucia Jazz festival is now simply referred to as St Lucia Jazz. This festival is held every year in May (around April 30 - May 8) and attracts people from all over the Caribbean, the U.S. and the U.K. For two whole weeks, the entire country pulsates with rhythm. The music is great, the atmosphere is superb, and the fun is immense. The music is not limited to Jazz; there is a wide variety to choose from. If you're like me, you'll enjoy everything. Throughout the festival, the best bands and artists in the world play at many venues all over the island.

Or . . . the St Lucia Golf and Country Club is situated in Cap Estate which is to the north of Gros Islet. From there, you have a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. This is the only 18-hole golf course in St Lucia. It is a par 71, 6815 yards golf course and was built to host championship matches yet still inviting enough for the recreational golfers. There are many golf championship matches that have been hosted here.

On this island 95% of the people speak Creole French even though English is the official language. Surprise! Listen closely on your way to the unique drive-in volcano (only one in the world). Visitors come here all the time to find out about this much talked about drive-in volcano. The islands of the eastern Caribbean are linked via a volcanic arc, but the St Lucia volcano is different because the water has therapeutic qualities. You will find people who go to bath there in order to remove blemishes on their skin. The St Lucia volcano is located in Soufriere. The people of Soufriere pride themselves on having the only drive in volcano in the world right at their door steps. In fact, there are people living within the perimeter of the craters.

St. Kitts is another scuba divers paradise! More than 400 ships have sunk between 1493 and 1825 and only about a dozen have been identified over the years. Other favorite diving spots include Monkey Shoals, Nags Head and Sandy Point. Also, don't miss exploring Coconut Tree Reef. The reef is one of St. Kitt's largest reef systems and is appropriate for every level of diver. The reef goes down to about 200 feet and is home to a large variety of aquatic life.

Or . . . the Wingfield-Phillips Rain Forest Nature Trail takes a hike through the lush rainforest, where you can view the natural beauty of St. Kitts. If you don't feel comfortable making the hike alone, there are numerous tour guide company's on the island that will lead the way. Guides are also useful in identifying medicinal plants and providing information on local history and cultures.

The green vervet monkeys originally arrived on St Kitts, when the French occupied the island sporadically between 1665 to 1690. The French brought them as pets. Eventually, the French were deported and the monkeys were not allowed to enter the boats so they were abandoned on the island. This did not pose a threat for them because St. Kitts had an ideal climate and vegitation with no enemies. They began to multiply and to date they have out-populated humans on the island. There are 1.25 monkeys for every human. The current population of monkeys on St Kitts is about 53,000.

Or just forget it and enjoy one or all four famous beach bars.

ShipWreck (Friars Bay)Located on the lovely Friars bay beach, ShipWreck plays host to the more secluded side of Friars. Popular for its full moon parties and fine barbecued cuisine, ShipWreck offers both relaxation and stimulation for all.
Shiggidy Shack is located on the outskirts of the Timothy Beach Hotel. This unique bar has developed a faithful following among return visitors.
Monkey Bar (Frigate Bay)The Monkey Bar is the essence of an island beach hang out – with great sunsets and a lively happy hour.
Reggae Beach Bar and Grill is located on Cockleshell Beach. The blender drinks are a specialty of the house. Try the peanut butter colada. They also have pina colada, strawberry, banana and mango. The bartenders are a joy to watch and will be happy to give you some island history along with your delectable drink. This light, airy establishment is very comfortable. You can come right off the beach and sit at large white tables decorated with local flowers.

The language spoken by most is English, however, about 100K speak something called, St. Kitts Creole.
